What are Intensive Therapy Retreats

Intensive Therapy Retreats are for people that want to do therapy, but want to get to the root of their problem sooner and have the time and the means to do it. All of the therapists have successfully completed The Personal Transformation Institute’s S.A.F.E EMDR Basic Training or and most are a part of the PTI training team. Each therapist has a unique background but all share a common approach to therapy, which is using EMDR. Feel free to browse the therapists to see if there is one that you would want to see and we can get a time scheduled for an introductory phone call.

Do you accept insurance?

Most insurance does not cover intensive therapy sessions. We will provide you a detailed receipt and you can try to get reimbursed for as much as you can. We do remain flexible in allowing for bookings of a minimum of one full day.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker from Moultrie, GA. I work primarily with adults who suffer from Complex PTSD, Dissociation, Dissociative Identity Disorder and Addictions. My passion is helping individuals who suffer from dissociation and addiction as they are often “at war” with themselves.  It is my goal to help these individuals learn how to live in a more collaborative and compassionate way with themselves. It is out of this new sense of compassion that healing from past traumas can be accomplished.
I have been practicing EMDR since 2010 and have been certified in EMDR since 2015.  I am currently a Consultant in Training with the Personal Transformation Institute.  I have been using a combination of EMDR and Ego State Therapy (Parts Work) with clients since 2014.
I believe everyone has the innate ability to heal. I am skilled at helping people tap into their own internal wisdom which guides us to the fuel source of their problems.  We then use a combination of EMDR and Ego State Therapy to help extinguish this fuel source which brings relief to their symptoms and produces the desired results in their life.  My commitment to you during the time you reserve is my full attention, clinical skills and my belief that you can overcome the barriers to being your best self.

Learn more about Angel

I’m a licensed clinical psychologist that has worked in an outpatient clinic for a large health system in Springfield, Missouri for the past 14 years.  Prior to that, I completed an internship and worked at a community mental health center in Topeka, Kansas.  I work with a wide variety of ages (age 2 years and up) and diagnoses.  I became certified by EMDRIA in EMDR in 2009 and an approved consultant in 2016.

I have had the pleasure of working with Deb and being a part of PTI since the second weekend of her first official PTI training.  EMDR has been transformative for me as a person and therapist.  It fit naturally with my more holistic approach to therapy and life by taking into account an individual’s physical, emotional, and spiritual state.

My faith and family are my passions.  My husband and I were blessed later in life to have a little girl who we adore and love to spend time playing with.  In particular, we enjoy spending time together outdoors.  Although life has interfered with it the last few years, my husband and I are committed to resuming our passion for travel.  We want our daughter to experience more of what the world has to offer.  I spent much of my upbringing traveling around the country with my parents who made a living selling a variety of arts and crafts.  While I don’t want to raise my daughter “on the road,” I do want her to develop an appreciation for different cultures and experience the beauty of different parts of the world.

Another area of interest that has been developing is cooking.  Due to health issues I experienced late 2017 into early 2018, I was encouraged to change my diet.  I have loved learning new ways to prepare and cook food.  Plus, I’m thankful for the health benefits.

Susanne believes that developing trust and rapport with her clients provides a safe therapeutic setting for the healing to begin. Therapy should not be a lifelong journey, when you treat the root, you treat the symptoms that are getting in your way of living in authenticity, freedom, and presence.

Can you heal? Of course. With motivation, a safe therapeutic space and a level of expertise to guide you, you can break the patterns that are not working in your life. When we treat the brain and the body we experience freedom and connection – A Return to Wholeness.

I started working mostly with teens, families, and children aging out of foster care through providing in home counseling. After that experience I moved to a move private practice setting where I worked mostly with teens, families, and adults healing from trauma. I love seeing people heal from their pain to fully become who they were created to be.

My hobbies include going to the beach, being outside in nature, and going on adventures with my family and friends. I’m passionate about coffee, quality time with people I love, and traveling. I have been a therapist in a variety of settings over the past 25+ years including Community Mental Health, Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault, agency settings and private practice. My experience has focused on trauma, complex trauma and mental health issues with children, adolescents and adults in individual, relational and family sessions. Today my practice is primarily with older teens and adults.

My Philosophy and Approach to treatment is based on my belief that every individual and family system have the ability to heal themselves and they hold the solutions to their own internal struggles and processes.

As an EMDR therapist, I utilize a non-judgmental, caring and respectful work attitude with my clients in order to encourage self-empowerment. I see my role as facilitator and supporter of the exploration process of my clients towards healing, self-realization and self-actualization. I have found the most effective way to aid clients in accomplishing this goal is through SAFE EMDR therapy.

On a personal note, I believe I am fortunate to live in one of the most beautiful places in the United States. I share this wondrous life with my partner of many years and a rescue St. Bernard named Maggie. With mountains to climb, public beaches on the Pacific Ocean to explore, high desert and old growth forests to traverse, there is never a reason to be bored or inactive.
